Quite small, but nice museum with interesting exposition. Amusing moment is that the part of the rooms is shown similar as when they're were opened — only exhibits are displayed in cases without any signs (but there are modern discretions signs in rooms)

This is the biographical museum of Jan Matejko (1838-1893), the great Polish painter who became famous for his historical paintings like the 'Battle of Grunwald', and the 'Union of Lublin.' Matejko's paintings are also on display at Vatican museums. Here, the museum was once the family house of Jan Matejko where he was born, lived, painted most of his works, and died. The exhibits include his paintings, letters, photographs, furniture, used household items as well as his collection of paintings. The museum also includes memorabilia of his family members.

The house of the well known polish artist Jan Matejko. You will see some of his artworks and the many items he collected in order to help him add the needed details in his art. It was so beautiful to walk around his house and learn all this unique information about his life. The museum has no queues and you may buy tickets to the MNK museum as well, just ask. There is a cloak so you may live your luggages there for free during your visit. The crew is very helpful and give you nice extra info about the exhibition!

3 floors of period rooms and exhibitions. For those unfamiliar with Jan Martejko's work think of Burn-Jones or G.F.Watts, historical events and religious art. Very impressive collection, includes weapons and armour Jan acquired as well as art and personal effects. A great way to learn about late 19th century Polish art.

Beautiful small biographical museum on three levels, in the birth and death house of Jan Matejko. Exhibits from his personal collection of historical objects, private furniture, awards and some paintings and drawings are presented. Some helpful information about the house as well as the life and work of Matejko are available in Polish and English.
